  2. Also, my question wasn't answered. Why didn't the sahaba become apostates not accepting Imam Ali (as) as the immediate successor ?
Why do the Muslims become apostates for rejecting the leadership of the Mahdi ?

  3. as salaamu alaykum all!

    Thanks for your questions.

I believe that both questions are interrelated. As far as we know, the Zaydis do believe in the Dajjal. There is a hadith we cited in the "Sublime Answers..." (Jawaab ar-Raaqi) text. It is as follows: ((The one who fights us in these times will be similar to the one who fights along with the Antichrist (ad-dajjāl) when he comes)). I believe that it is narrated by Imam Zayd (as). This shows that at least according to the classical Zaydi sources, there is an affirmation of the Dajjāl.

Regarding Pro Ahl al-Bayt's question, I dont think that our imams or scholars dealt with this question so it is a matter of speculation on our part! We ask Allah to forgive any missteps!
First of all, I never came across anything in the Zaydi works that says that those who reject the Mahdi (as) will be apostates. They will definitely be considered astray (daal).
Second, maybe the issue is related to who the opposition is. In the time of the Mahdi (as) the Dajjal will be the enemy. Therefore, to reject fighting along with the Mahdi will mean that they will reject fighting the universal enemy of Islam and Truth. However, this was not the case in the time of Imam Ali (as).

Also, we ask: Is it plausible that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his progeny, would make it so clear and explicit who the imam of the Muslims will be at the end of time but remain silent or implicit regarding who the imam would be immediately after him?

    And Allah knows best!

  4. Salaam Brother
    Refer to these ahadith.

“Shahr ibn Hawshab (RA) narrates that the Messenger of Allāh (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) said: In (the month of) Muharram, an announcer will call out from the heaven: beware! Surely, (be informed that) such a person has been chosen by Allāh, so listen to him and obey him during the year of uproar and turmoil.”

    50. عن جابر بن عبد الله رضي الله عنهما، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: من كذب بالدجال فقد كفر، ومن كذب بالمهدي فقد كفر.

“Jābir ibn ‘Abdullāh (رضي الله عنهما) narrates that the Messenger of Allāh (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) said: whoever denies (the coming of) Dajjāl, has surely committed disbelief, and whoever denies (the coming of) Mahdī has (also) committed disbelief.”

    51. عن ابن عمر رضي الله عنه، قال: قال رسول الله صلى الله عليه وآله وسلم: يخرج المهدي وعلى رأسه عمامة، فيها مناد ينادي: هذا المهدي خليفة الله، فاتبعوه.

“‘Abdullāh ibn ‘Umar (رضي الله عنهما) narrates that the Messenger of Allāh (صلی اللہ علیہ وآلہ وسلم) said: Mahdī will come and there will be a turban on his head. There will be an announcer who will proclaim: this is Mahdī, Allāh’s caliph, so follow and obey him.”

    # Ibn Hammād related it in al-Fitan (1:226,338#630,980); and Suyūtī copied it in al-Hāwī lil-fatāwā (2:76).
    # Related by Suyutī in al-Hāwī lil-fatāwā (2:83).
    # Suyūtī transmitted it in al-Hāwī lil-fatāwā (2:61); Tabarānī, Musnad ash-shāmiyyīn (2:71#937); and Daylamī in al-Firdaws (5:510#8920).

Also remember the Mahdi will fight against the Sufyani.

Also the learned Sunni scholars say Imam Mahdi (as) will wipe out all the other schools of thought and present the school of Ahlul Bayt (as). Therefore, it will be haraam for sunnis to be hanafi, shafi, hanbali, maliki etc.
If Sunnis scholars say this then I am sure shia scholars have even a stricter view.

  5. Brother proahlulbayt,

try not to bother yourself with evaluating people and whether they are muslims or Apostates! its a bad road that will fill you with hatred and will harm your own islam. let alone getting into the beliefs of the sahaba. as the quran says those are that generations that past they have gained and have gained against them. Dont worry allah is just. Also prophet mohamad says whoever says to a muslim that he is not a muslim then he himself does not become a muslim.
just try to follow the truth and do not bother what others have done.

excuse my quick translation. but I hope brother you get the point.

  6. Brother rassi,Masha'Álah the Question of Dajjal is very interesting to me,because he will come with one eye,i beleive in him coming at the end of times, but i dont think my school of thought(madh-hab)Does.also Brother Zabarah told me Zaydis belive Isa(a.s)is Dead,Does this mean only the Mahdi will come to destroy the Dajjal.

  7. Imam aba Abdillah al-Sadiq Said to make 70 excuses for someone if they are sinning and not think bad about them,im sure his Uncle Zayd ibn ali,and his Ancestors agree with this, this means we should not let these questions divide muslims, the same imam said makijg unity amoing muslims is one of the best things ever.

Such issues of Takfir and Irtidhad are evry dangerouis,i thin its oke when theres evident proof for a individual but not for an entire people!!!!!!!!!!!

3 zaydi scholars say both sunnis and ''the jafari school''(wich includes in my view both Twelvers and Isma'ilis)and the ''ibadhi school''and'' the salafi school''to be MUSLIM and nto kafir or could be aposticized or to malign these people.

ibrahim ibn uhamamd al-wazir,muhammad ibn muhamamd isma'il al-mansoor,and humud ibn abbas al-muayyad have endorsed the message.

  8. Assalaamu alaykum,

How would one following the Zaidi madhab pray the witr prayer? Is it 1 or 3 ra'kah? Is it prayed as 2 and 1 or as Maghrib, but with a second surah recited in the third ra'kah?

    Barak Allahu Feekum

    ReplyDelete
  9. Salaamz to all!

According to the Zaydi fiqh, the witr prayer is prayed similar to maghrib (i.e. 3 rakat together with no salaams in between).

One also recites the qunut after the third ruku. The qunut can be any supplication from the Qur'an.

Any other salaat inquiries, you can refer to our translation of Tajrid on our scribd site: http://www.scribd.com/doc/42147079/Tajrid-purityprayer

  10. Why is Magic Practiced widely in Yemen?A Zaydi Country?what is the Zaydi Ruling on this?in Ahl Al-Sunna Wa Al-Jama'ah its Apostacy.

  11. in Ahl Al-sunna the Scholars merely look at the Text and accept allah as he Describes himself.Allah for Example Says he Has Two Hands.but then Zaydis say he has no Hands.isnt that kufr Akbar? And Do The Zaydis base their'''Metaphorical Interpretation''on any Qu'ran or sunna Evidence?i dont want whats perceived as ''Logical''Evidence, because thats a Bi'da.especially in Regards to Aqidah.i mean all i hear from Psuedo-Mutazilites is Plato and Aristotle not the Usul Al-Deen.no sunni ever said, except maybe the ''Asha'ris'',that We are able to Describe this ''Hand''and ''Face''or that its like our Hand and Face and we can PErceive this hand and face with a form or Detail, but why dont You Accept the Words, without trying to Speculate on it,and Add Your own Interpretation.

  12. The Qur'anic verse 7 in Al Imran mentions "ayaat mutashaabihaat" i.e. allegorical verses. Muhammad Asad explains in his appendix of his translation on the Qur'an that "only a small segment of reality is open to man's perception", and that the human mind cannot visualise something that lies "outside the realm of previously realized experiences". Therefore, in the Qur'an, "parabolic illustrations" are used, by means of something we know from experience (e.g. hands), of something that is beyond our perception. If we take every Qur'anic passage in its outward, literal sense, we would be "offending against the spirit of the divine writ".
Early Qur'an interpreters (like Zamakhshari) understood this, it was the more recent literal interpreters (like Ibn Kathir) who were the innovators.
